Until Easter 2017 I was the acting headteacher at Trinity RC school in Nottingham, acting for over 2 years and prior to that a deputy there for 10 years. A new headteacher started at Easter 2017, after a long period whilst the school tried to appoint a new Roman Catholic headteacher.
I am a proud Chemistry teacher and school leader. At heart I still #lovechemistry. Helped pilot the early days of Salters’ A Level Chemistry and proud to be a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, medal winner and even wrote a GCSE text for lower ability pupils. FRSC and CChem.
I worked at Trinity for 28 years and a term. I have taught in two other schools: Wood Green, Oxfordshire and Alderman White in Beeston, Nottingham. 1981 to 2022. That means approx 26,000 lessons taught.
From Sept 2017 I worked as an interim Director of Education Strategy for Nottingham City Local Authority, working on improving partnership engagement and support through the pandemic. I left NCC to retire (again) in February 2022.
I helped to care for an elderly relative at home the day after I finished at NCC, that responsibility concluded and so now I really am….. retired.
